Princess Diana's chef has revealed what the British queen's favorite breakfast dish was - she loved overnight oats. It's a dish that has become very popular in recent years, but Princess Diana ate it as early as the 1990s.
It's a dish that's become very popular in recent years, but Princess Diana ate it back in the 1990s. McGrady shared the recipe for her favorite breakfast on his YouTube channel called "Princess Diana's Overnight Oatmeal,"
McGrady worked for the British royal family from 1982 to 1997, starting with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace, then becoming Princess Diana's personal chef at Kensington Palace in 1993.
"When I became Diana's chef, she took control of her life again. She was a patron of 119 different charities, she was exercising regularly three times a week and she looked better than ever," McGrady recalled in the video.
He added that she started eating healthier, so she ate oatmeal prepared this way for breakfast, and her love for this breakfast was born after a visit to a Swiss clinic, where the dish was served under the name bircher muesli. "She really liked the dish – both the taste and the fact that all the ingredients were very healthy. She stole the recipe and said, 'Daren, I want this for breakfast every day,'" the chef said.
